The game lasted for just 36 minutes as the Japanese shuttler had no reply to Sindhu's aggressive game plan.

This is also the first time that an Indian shuttler has managed to win the World Championships title ever.

On her way to the final, Sindhu knocked out Chen Yu Fei from China 21-7, 21-14 to claim her spot.

The 24-year-old absolutely took off and won it in straight games, inside 39 minutes.

Sindhu dominated the first game against her Chinese opponent as Fei lost the first game 21-7 and got severely outplayed by the Indian.

In the quarter-finals, Sindhu knocked out 25-year-old Tai Tzu Ying after a rough start to the match as she brought it back from 12-21 to 23-21, 21-19 and secured her spot in the Semis of the Championship.

Last year in December, Sindhu defeated the-then World number one ranked Tai at the BWF World Tour Finals as well.
