The first half was a tight encounter with the home side going to the interval with their noses in front at 10-9. The second half saw Pune captain Wazir Singh letting his side down with it mattered the most. Not once, but thrice. The first occasion saw Anup Kumar of U Mumbai himself tackling Singh to take the score to 13-10. With 10 minutes to go, Singh saw himself once again brought down as his lead trailed 13-16.

Pune did manage to overturn the deficit and surge ahead at 18-17 but Rishank Devadiga and Shabeer Bapu were in no mood to let Pune run away with the lead. Consecutive raids with five minutes remaining saw U Mumba regain the lead at 21-18. The duo, who raked up eight raids each, saved their best for the last and combined to pin down Singh, who was the last Puneri player on the mat, to seal yet another home win.Result: U Mumba 28 bt Puneri Paltans 21Playing today (Live on Star Sports 2 & 3): Bengal Warriors vs Jaipur Pink Panthers (8pm), Bengaluru Bulls vs Patna Pirates (9pm)
