NEW DELHI: The nail-biting first cricket Twenty-20 World Cup final match between India and Pakistan on Monday saw Prime Minister Manmohan Singh glued to the TV screen till the last ball, after which he said the Indian boys 'made us proud'.
     
75-year-old Singh, who recently underwent a surgery of enlarged prostate gland, was flanked by his family members as the Indian team beat Pakistan at the Johannesburg cricket stadium.
     
Soon after Joginder Singh delivered the final blow to Pakistan, an elated Prime Minister said 'keep it going, Team India.'
     
The Prime Minister, who watched the three-and-a-half hour exciting game, said 'they played well and made us all proud.'
     
Singh watched the final game with great interest and after India's victory congratulated the team for an 'impressive performance'.
     
The Prime Minister also complimented Pakistan for playing well, PM's media adviser Sanjaya Baru said.
