BARINGSHAUSEN (Germany): The Polish national team players would receive collectively a cool six million dollars if they manage to win the World Cup, a senior Polish football official said.

"In this way we have joined together the team," said Michal Listkiewicz, president of the Polish football federation (PZF) on Sunday.

Listkiewicz declined to give further details, including what the players would be paid if they were knocked out in the knockout phase.

The PZF would consider the side being knocked out of the tournament because of a poor refereeing decision differently from poor overall performances by the team, Listkiewicz said.

"We would have to take something like that under consideration," he added.

Poland's minimum goal from Group A, in which they will play against Germany, Ecuador, and Poland is an advance into the next round, he said.

"Were we to reach the quarterfinal, it would be comparable with our (Poland's) exit in 1974," Listkiewicz said.

The Polish national side was placed third in that competition held in Germany.
