CHANDIGARH: A Public Interest Litigation has been filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court against the Indian cricket trio of Harbhajan Singh, Mohinder Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh with regard to their appearing in an advertisement of a liquor company.

The PIL, filed by advocate H C Arora alleging that the players were misleading the youth of the country, came up for hearing on Saturday before a division bench comprising acting Chief Justice S S Nijjer and Justice S S Saron, who transferred it to another Bench.

It is now expected to be heard on Monday.

The petitioner stated in his petition that though he had sent a legal notice to BCCI and its President Sharad Pawar, neither any reply has been submitted by the respondents nor the advertisement has been stopped.

He further alleged that by doing the advertisement of the liquor company, the players who are seen as role model have misled the young generation.

It may be recalled that earlier SGPC had also taken serious view of this advertisement by Harbhajan Singh wherein he had appeared with open hair and Harbhajan had to apologise for his conduct.
