Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly delayed the announcement of central contracts to the cricketers as it is waiting for the month-long training camp being held in Lahore to be completed before announcing the list. The national selectors believe that any announcement at this point may make negative impact on players who will not be awarded contracts as they will not give their 100 percent in the fitness training camp.According to the Express Tribune, the selectors feel that this will kill the main purpose of the 30-day long activity being carried out at the Gaddafi Stadium and the National Cricket Academy as it will prevent the players not in the list from focusing hard on taking their fitness to new levels.Meanwhile, another PCB official revealed that approval of budget from the Management Committee (MC) and to keep players involved are the reasons for the delay, the report added.
