MS Gill, Suresh Kalmadi meet president on C'Wealth Games
Under a compromise reportedly reached between New Delhi and London, Prince Charles will declare the games open while President Patil will say 'let the games begin'.
Sports minister MS Gill and Commonwealth organising committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi today met President Pratibha Patil and are understood to have briefed her about the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games.Under a compromise reportedly reached between New Delhi and London, Prince Charles will declare the games open while President Patil will say 'let the games begin'.Official sources said the Gill and Kalmadi met Patil for about 10 minutes at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and are understood to have discussed the upcoming sporting extravaganza and briefed the president about the opening ceremony.
