India skipper MS Dhoni has defended Stuart Binny's selection in the 2015 World Cup squad by maintaing that the 'best seam bowler in India' has been included.

Despite Binny being selected ahead of the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Robin Uthappa and Murali Vijay, Dhoni stated that the all-rounder was selected keeping in mind conditions in Australia and New Zealand.Though Binny has had a mixed career so far, still a good showing is expected of him by Dhoni, who expects him to put in atleast seven-eight overs.

Coach Duncan Fletcher too has given Binny the go ahead despite doubts over the latter's ability to perform under pressure. Fletcher confirmed that Binny would do a world of good to the squad as a 'batting all-rounder' and signed off by saying that his selection for the World Cup was justified indeed.
