Mario Balotelli said to have spent approximately 55,000 pounds in just eight weeks after checking into a luxury hotel because he broke a window at his house.
In a bizarre display of his bloated wealth, the 21-year-old footballer moved into the Presidential Suite Manchester Hilton hotel after a firework was let off in the bathroom of his 3 million pounds rented home, the Daily Mail reported.
The hotel’s website boasts that that the Presidential suite is separated into four zones, “work, living, dining and relaxation - creating luxury environments for both work and play”.
According to onlookers, the young sportsman has been allowed to permanently leave his white Maserati parked right outside the hotel in a drop-off zone, with staff apparently unable to persuade him to use the guest car park.
During the firecracker incident, firefighters were forced to tackle a blaze that wrecked the first floor bathroom and a room directly below at the property in Manchester’s stockbroker belt.
The star and his friends escaped unhurt after fleeing the fire, just 36 hours before Balotelli and his team-mates faced their most important game of the season, against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The damage, said by Balotelli to have been caused by a friend’s high jinks, gutted the bathroom at the four-bedroom house in Mottram St Andrew, Cheshire.
Balotelli now faces a 400,000 pounds bill for the repairs as his landlord wants the footballer to pay for the damages himself rather than go through insurance.
