Real-life is nothing like a movie and Babita Kumari Phogat learned it the hard way when she was beaten in 46 seconds at the KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium in New Delhi on Wednesday. Representing UP Dangal in Pro Wrestling League, Babita Phogat lost to former World and European champion Sofia Mattsson of the Haryana Hammers in the 53-kg category. Mattsson took a 4-0 lead in the first 30 seconds and took another 16 seconds to register a fourth win for her team to win the pro-wrestling league tie. Babita Phogat was slow to start and before long was down on the mat. This was the second win for Haryana Hammers who won the toss and decided to block the 74-kg tie, while the UP outfit blocked the women’s 58-kg category denying spectators a match-up between Geeta Phogat and Marwa Amri. Since Dangal released, the Phogat sisters have been in the spotlight. Babita’s older sister Geeta is also representing UP Dangal and is likely to face off against Saskhi Malik who will turn up for the Delhi Sutlans.
