While the whole country was disappointed to see Yogeshwar getting knocked out in the very first round, some people were hell-bent on reminding him of his outspoken comments against Bollywood’s Bhai, Salman. When the superstar was appointed as IOA's goodwill ambassador for Rio 2016, Yogeshwar had criticised his appointment.

Sadly, on the day when he lost in the qualifying round against his Mongolian opponent, Ganzorigiin Mandakhnaran, Salman fans tore apart Yogeshwar for daring to speak up against their ‘god’.

Yogeshwar Duuta, known for his outspoken nature obviously didn't want to take all these criticism lying down. While saying 'sorry' to his well wishers for not being able to do an encore of London, Yogeshwar said. "I ask for forgiveness from those people who were saddened by my performance but I don't care about someone else's fans. I have been getting many messages about people slamming me but dogs have the right to bark in our country and it hardly matters to me if someone wants to bark. I only care about my fans who love me."
