The Pakistan team cannot be missing home much on an Indian tour because of the similar cultures of the two countries. But they are being made to feel even more 'at home' in Chandigarh.

The Taj hotel, where both teams are staying for Thursday's ODI, has brought in chefs specially trained to prepare the famous street food from Lahore for the benefit of the visitors.

The recipes and hand-pounded spices have been specially brought from Lahore to tickle the taste buds of the Pakistani cricketers with 'home food'.

The hotel's 'Dera' restaurant will serve the delicacies to both teams, with a range of kebabs, paranthas, botis and a host of other dishes on offer, literally on a platter.

"The chefs deployed here have been specially trained in the food streets of Lahore. We have ensured that the hand-pounded spices were brought in from Lahore so that there is no difference in the taste of the Lahori food we are offering," hotel general manager Anil Malhotra said.

Chandigarh police have placed the hotel under a security blanket.
