John Cena ‘especially excited’ to make wrestling debut in India at WWE superstar spectacle, check details

The wrestling promotion has officially confirmed that John Cena, a former world champion, will be making his highly anticipated return to WWE next month. Fans can expect to see Cena back in the ring during the inaugural episode of SmackDown, which is scheduled to take place on September 1 at The Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. 

Additionally, Cena will be a prominent figure in the upcoming WWE Superstar Spectacle, a thrilling live event set to take place in India on September 8.

The WWE event in India is set to take place at the GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad. The 16-time World Champion has officially announced his return to WWE on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). However, there is currently no official information regarding Cena's potential opponents.

John Cena's upcoming appearance in September will be his first WWE event since his unexpected participation in the Money in the Bank at The O2 Arena in July of this year. Prior to that, he was also part of the WrestleMania line-up in April. During WrestleMania 39, Cena competed for the United States Championship against Austin Theory but unfortunately suffered a defeat in that match.

For a long time, John Cena has been the prominent figure representing WWE. However, in recent years, he has not been actively involved in regular wrestling matches for the promotion. In fact, last year, Cena only competed in WWE on a single occasion.

While talking about his WWE career, Cena recently admitted that he misses being a part of the promotion. “Man, I wish I was still there every day. I just can't. My body can't do it anymore and I don't want to give the consumer a bad product. That's a thing that I learned from those veterans at that time. Guys like Eddie just would risk so much. He's like, 'I'm never gonna give the consumer a bad product. I don't care how I feel. I don't care how I feel physically, I don't care what baggage I have mentally. When I'm on, they paid good money and I'm gonna go out there and give everything I have and sometimes find it when it's not there,'" the 46-year-old wrestling icon revealed during an interaction with Busted Open Radio.

The upcoming Hyderabad Superstar Spectacle event, scheduled for next month, will be WWE's first live show in India since 2017. The event will take place at the prestigious Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. However, it is important to note that the September WWE Superstar Spectacle will not be televised in America. It is worth mentioning that the inaugural edition of this event was broadcasted exclusively in India two years ago.
