Pakistan batsman Javed Miandad has welcomed the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) decision to appoint Shahid Afridi as Pakistan's Twenty20 cricket team captain but cautioned the all-rounder against taking the position for granted.
Miandad asked Afridi to focus on his batting and improve it and added that his form with the bat would be important for the team. He also said that Pakistan can no longer afford his "slapdash approach," reported the Dawn.
The PCB has appointed the 34-year-old cricketer as the T20 captain for two years.
