The Sahara group, which has bought the Pune franchise for Rs1,702 crore, considered the highest bid, said it would unveil the identity of the team along with its name at a function which would be preceded by a cultural programme at the SP College ground in Pune.

The Pune franchisee will be part of the IPL in its 2011 edition along with the Kochi team, adding to the existing eight teams playing the league.

The matches in Pune will be played at the stadium of Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA), still under construction, about 25 km from Pune.
