The Australian cricketers' run of injuries continue as Kings XI Punjab all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has been ruled out of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) following an apparent side strain.Confirming the news, Cricket Australia's national team physio David Beakley said that Maxwell had reported increasing soreness in his left abdomen area after the side's seven-wicket defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Punjab Cricket Association.Beakley added that the 27-year-old would now head home for further assessment and treatment ahead of the Caribbean tri-series, which also feature South Africa."From the information we have so far, the injury doesn't appear to be something that will prevent Glenn from participating in this tour, but we are keen to give him the necessary time to recover before departing to the West Indies at the end of this month," Beakley was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.Earlier, Rising Pune Supergiants players Mitchell Marsh and Steve Smith, Kings XI's Shaun Marsh and Kolkata Knight Riders' John Hastings were also ruled out of the IPL due to their respective injuries.Kings XI, which are out of the contention of IPL finals, will play their inconsequential match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
