Badminton lovers in the city will get to watch top shuttlers from around the world competing in the Tata Open India International Challenge Badminton Tournament from December 21-25 at the CCI here.

Former badminton great Prakash Padukone said, “The tournament has been upgraded to an international tournament and 50 foreign players have confirmed their participation. You will get to see a lot of future champions competing while there is representation from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Bangladesh and Nepal.”

Leading international players like Indonesians Alamsyah Yonus, Tommy Sugiarto, Malaysian Misbun Ramdan, Russian Stanislav Pukhov and American Daniel Gouw will be playing.

Representing India will be Anup Sridhar, Aravind Bhat, Ajay Jayram, Anand Pawar, Trupti Murugunde, Sayali Gokhale and PV Sindhu. Prize money of $15,000 is at stake.
