Kerala government on Friday felicitated Sajan Prakash, the only male swimmer selected to represent India in the Rio Olympics to be held next month and handed over a cheque of Rs 10 lakh to him.

The cheque was handed over to the 22-year-old ace swimmer from Kerala, who won several medals in the last National games, by Sports Minister E P Jayarajan at a function organised by the Kerala Aquatic Association in Thiruvananthapuram.

Sports personalities Bobby Aloysius and K M Beenamol were among those present on the occasion.

Kerala-born Sajan will swim in the men's 200m butterfly in the swimming events at the 2016 Olympic Games.
