Brazilian and AC Milan football star Kaka says that he was moved by the support of his Italian club fans in taking the sensational decision to reject a world record offer from the Arab-owned Manchester City football club.

He turned down their 243-million pound bid, 107 million pounds of which was to be his playing fees.

“At the end what counted was my history, where my ties are and where my heart really lies.  I am really happy at this club. All the messages I received meant so much and forced me to choose with my heart,” The Sun quoted Kaka, as saying.

“Going to Manchester City could have been a great project but I have prayed a lot in the last few days, looking to understand which was the right team for me and in the end I decided to stay here,” he added.

Kaka also denied that he clashed with his father Bosco Leite over whether to accept City’s offer.

“Nobody from my family pushed me to go anywhere. I stayed at the team with which I have a bond and is in my heart,” he said.
