Ayesha gave them souvenirs purportedly given by Shoaib, and also clothes worn by her when she and Malik were sharing an intimate moment. She also supplied documentary proof. The evidence will be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory in Hyderabad and to another laboratory in Nasik to ensure that scientific tests are fool-proof. A team of investigators, including three assistant commissioners and 12 inspectors, are likely to visit Ayesha again on Wednesday.

What’s interesting is a bunch of photographs Ayesha gave the investigators. The photographs show several Pakistani players at the Siddiquis residence. Going by the evidence, if the players appearing in the photographs are considered witnesses, they could also be questioned. However, the investigators are unlikely to take such a step in a hurry. On Tuesday, they spent hours with legal experts trying to untangle the case.

In Delhi, Shoaib Malik’s brother-in-law Imran said the cricketer will neither seek anticipatory bail nor file a defamation case against Ayesha.
