India's tennis queen Sania Mirza turned 29 on Tuesday. The Hyderabadi, who cut short her singles career to excel in doubles, is closing in on completing 100 weeks as World No. 1 in the WTA doubles rankings.

The hard-hitting right-hander has had a phenomenal past few seasons which saw her winning multiple Grand Slams with Swiss partner Martina Hingis, and she's done well to cement her place as the top-ranked doubles player in the world.

Mirza began her birthday festivities by sharing an image of herself on Instagram with her followers. In the image, she is seen sitting on the floor in her house and holding balloons in her hand. The caption reads, “Waking up to this Birthday Morning. Thank you everybody for the wishes"
