A video of Rameshwar Gurjar, running barefoot were doing the rounds on social media. The video showed Gurjar - a resident of Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh - running a distance of 100 meters in just 11 seconds.
The video went so viral that it even caught the attention of Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare Kiren Rijiju who even promised to secure the runner a place in the athletic academy.
Gurjar was called in for the test by Madhya Pradesh Sports Minister Jitu Patwari after he met the boy earlier on Saturday.
False start? Rameshwar Gurjar who ran '100 metres in 11 seconds' fails to repeat timings in trial
The 19-year-old athlete, however, could not maintain the timing at an official speed test at the TT Stadium in Bhopal, where he clocked in 12.9 seconds for the distance of 100 meters.
Posting a video of the same, Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju tweeted about the young lad. He said, "Rameshwar Gurjar's trial run was conducted at T T Nagar Stadium by senior coaches of SAI and State Govt. Here, Rameshwar is seen running at extreme left. He is exhausted due to the glare of publicity so couldn't perform well. Will give proper time and training to him".
Rameshwar Gurjar's trial was organised within two days of @KirenRijiju assuring that the aspiring athlete would be given a fair chance to prove his talent. His trial took place this morning in Bhopal's T T Nagar Stadium. https://t.co/QqxaWjlEdz

Rameshwar, himself has also pledged to train harder to improve his speed.
The teenager has accorded the longer timespan to him not being able to run barefoot during the speed test, to which he was accustomed.
He is also said to be experiencing pain in his feet and back muscles.
Rameshwar has now been admitted to an athletic academy in Bhopal where he will train for a month, at the end of which another speed test will be conducted.
