Former Manchester United defender Phil Neville has been officially appointed as assistant manager of Valencia FC.Nevile was named one week ago by the La Liga club but his deal was not finalised and, therefore, no formal announcement has been made, the BBC reported.Neville, who succeeded Ian Cathro, has, however, already started his job, taking part in pre-season training.Neville, who coached United under David Moyes, will now work under Valencia boss Nuno Espirito Santo.The former England defender, who won 59 caps for England, retired from playing two years ago.
