After completing four successful seasons, the fifth edition of the Vile Parle Premier League (VPPL) is all set to kick off on Tuesday.

The tournament, along with the Youth League and the Girls League will be held from May 19-31 at the Dubashi ground in Vile Parle east from 8-10 am.

The franchise based football league will cater to the age group of 15-24 and will see an inclusion of two divisions of eight teams each. Also seen will be a girls tournament as well as an U-16 competition.

The tournament is expected to attract around 450 players and an audience of more than 8,000 over the next two weeks.

I-league side Mumbai FC have been roped in as the tournament partners. As an incentive for the players, scouts and coaches from will be on the look out for emerging talent. 16 players from the Mumbai FC U-19 youth team have been put into each side as a marquee player.
