Barcelona vice-president Jaume Ferrer plans to stand for the presidency of the club in an election due to be held next year.

"I have the conviction and desire to present a candidacy to win the election," Ferrer told Catalunya Radio on Wednesday.

Alfons Godall, another of the club's five vice presidents, is also planning to mount a bid to replace Joan Laporta when he steps down at the end of June, Catalunya Radio reported.
