Diego Costa faced immense criticism after the match for his aggressive actions, which involved pushing Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny and getting involved with Gabriel Paulista in a heated argument, resulting in Gabriel getting a red card for kicking Costa as a result of provocation by the Chelsea centre-forward.

Talking to the reporter, Zouma said, "Everybody knows Diego and he likes to cheat a lot and get the opponents out his game. That happened in the game. But he’s a real nice guy in real life and we are very proud to have him.”

Arsenal will ask the English FA to reduce a three match-ban on Gabriel Paulista to be reduced. Diego Costa will later find out whether he will face any action by the English FA or not.
