English footballer caught on camera grabbing opponent's private parts twice, could face ban

English footballer Darnell Fisher of Preston is under serious trouble after he was caught on camera grabbing his opponent, Callum Paterson's genitals during the Championship match against Sheffield Wednesday.

The Football Association (FA) will investigate the Preston defender action after the shocking video footage emerged. In it, Fisher can be seen twice appearing to grope Paterson's private parts - once with either hand - at a corner during 10-man Wednesday's 1-0 defeat at Deepdale.

The incident took place in the second half of the game and was picked up by the cameras. Fisher could be seen touching Paterson's private parts twice. When the Sheffield man appeared to get the referee's attention the first time, Fisher just repeated the action.

The governing body will decide the punishment after receiving referee David Webb's report. "I haven’t seen it but I’m sure, with everybody on social media, he’ll be up in flames if he’s done that" Sheffield manager Tony Pulis said, who suffered a loss in his first game in charge of the Owls.

Earlier this year in the Six Nations match, England rugby union international Joe Marler was banned for 10 weeks for a low grab on Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones.

In Super League in August, St Helens' Tommy Makinson was suspended for five matches for grabbing the private parts of Castleford's Liam Watts.

Last week Catalans Dragons forward Joel Tomkins too was banned for eight matches after he was found guilty of making "inappropriate contact" with the backside of Leeds full-back Richie Myler.

This incident also evoked memories of the infamous picture showing Vinnie Jones squeezing Paul Gascoigne's testicles during Newcastle and Wimbledon in 1988.
