DURBAN: Rahul Dravid's sudden decision to quit the captaincy on Friday surprised the Indian team members here ahead of their crucial match against Pakistan in the Twenty20 World Cup.

Indian team's cricket manager Lalchand Rajput said the team was surprised but its focus was intact for the match against the arch-rivals.

"We were all surprised to hear the news. He must be having his reasons to do so and we must respect his decision," Rajput said.

Though the news came as a shocker, Rajput said, "The team is focused on the game at hand."

After their first match against Scotland was washed out on Thursday, Dhoni's side face arch-rivals Pakistan in a crucial Group D match here.
