Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh today came out in support of National hockey players who are demanding better payments."The demands of the players are fully justified and something should be done to improve the falling standards of Indian hockey," Singh told reporters. He said that at a time when cricketers were paid crores of rupees, hockey players were given only a pittance.The Congress general secretary said that the payment made to the hockey players should be increased and they should be provided with much better facilities. "All disputes in Hockey India should come to an end," Singh said.
