Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo finished Spain's La Liga season with a best goal tally of 61 and his first-half hat-trick in a 7-3 hammering of Getafe on Saturday.

The other four goals were scored by Javier Hernandez, James Rodriguez, Jese and Marcelo, reports the BBC. Ronaldo also finished with 48 La Liga goals this season, the most in his six seasons with Real Madrid, which was five more than Barcelona's Lionel Messi.

 Ronaldo's hat-trick at the Bernabeu was also his eighth this season, but it was a campaign that ended without a trophy. Getafe's three goals were scored by Escudero , Castro and Lacen.
