All the three clauses of the motion for passage of Constitution Amendment bill were negated by the lower house of Parliament on Tuesday night.
Jharkhand unit of the Janata Dal (U) Wednesday said the failure to confer Lokpal the constitutional status was a 'moral defeat' of the Congress and that the party should accept it 'publicly'.
"It’s a moral defeat to the Congress after the Lok Sabha rejected to give the constitutional status to the Lokpal yesterday. It should accept the moral defeat publicly," JD(U) state unit spokesman Pramod Mishra said in a statement here.
All the three clauses of the motion for passage of Constitution Amendment bill were negated by the lower house of Parliament on Tuesday night.
