The star batsman, who loves to win every time he steps on the field, must be gutted to see his team crash out of contention for the play-offs first.

However, as one would expect a champion player to do, Kohli already has his eyes set on his next assignment - the Champions Trophy (CT). But as it turns out, the Team India captain hasn't got any respite yet. With the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) contemplating not sending the Indian team for the tournament because of it's on-going battle with the International Cricket Council (ICC), Kohli has been left rather anxious over the past few days.

Although nothing has been officially declared yet, Kohli was given assurance by the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) that Team India will indeed take part in the CT in England starting June 1.

As it turns out, the CoA has been in touch with Kohli and has assured him that his side will surely get to defend their title next month. Apart from having a word with coach Anil Kumble, members of the CoA have also texted Kohli personally, clearly all his doubts.

"Virat Kohli was feeling anxious and down, we have allayed his fears and assured him that India will play the Champions Trophy," sources were quoted as saying in a report by India Today.

The CoA will move the Supreme Court if the BCCI general body takes any decision which is "against the interest of Indian cricket" at its SGM on May 7, the COA has warned in a letter to the state units.

The letter comes amid speculation that the BCCI is seriously mulling a pullout from the Champions Trophy in England next month despite COA making it clear that such a decision could not be taken without its consent.
