The legendary spinner was quoted by Mid Day as saying, “I hope I am not making a sweeping statement here, but captain Virat Kohli will have to answer history just like Douglas Jardine had to answer history for his Bodyline tactics in 1932-33.”

According to Bedi to make a hard and bouncy track, you need some knowledge and a particular kind of soil, but in Nagpur there was no wicket prepared. He rebutted the explanation given that India was merely using home advantage and said that pitches are not meant to turn from day one. According to him, a quality bowler like Ashwin is being pulled down by such 'sub-standard pitches'.

However Virat Kohli has already defended it by saying there is nothing wrong with exploiting the home advantage and that India don’t complain when they are offered green-tops overseas. It will be interesting to see if Indian team react to Bedi's remarks.
