Come July 14 and one should not be surprised to see two BCCI senior counsels fighting it out among themselves in the Supreme Court.

Going by the resolution passed by entire BCCI representatives assembled on Tuesday for special general meeting (SGM), the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (COA) has been asked to hire a lawyer to present their side of the story from next court hearing onwards.

DNA has reported on how three eligible BCCI office-bearers — CK Khanna, Amitabh Chaudhary and Aniruddh Chaudhary — flouted all the SC directions by allowing not just "ineligible or dismissed" state representatives inside the meeting room but also discussed matters not part of the original SGM agenda.

Nagaland representative Ahidur Rehman confirmed that disqualified members such as Rajesh Verma (Bobby) from Jharkhand and Asirbad Behera from Odisha attended the meeting despite SC ruling.

As per an insider's account, all the defiant BCCI members (including states) sent a resolution to the COA that they need their own lawyer to present their side of story in the court.

A similar demand was raised by BCCI officials during their meeting with COA representatives Vinod Rai and Vikram Limaye in Hyderabad during the Indian Premier League opening ceremony on April 5.

Apparently, Rai said that if the interests of BCCI and COA are different in any matter then that view should be given in writing. The same would then be put before the court along with the view of the COA.

Though, COA is unlikely to entertain such a demand but if accepted it means that there will be two separate BCCI lawyers fighting it out for their clients inside the Apex court.

Aniruddh for ICC meet, too

Going by insiders account, only one matter came from the SGM agenda that was "BCCI's stand in the upcoming ICC's Board meeting in Dubai on April 27".

Though no decision was taken on BCCI's threat to pull out from the Champions Trophy in England but "it was unanimously agreed to stick to its old 'Big Three' revenue model".

"Protecting India's interest will be his primary objective," said Amitabh. It is another thing that he didn't disclose how his colleague Aniruddh, BCCI treasurer, will be accompanying him to Dubai to "provide valuable assistance".

Barely 24 hours after SC finalised names of Amitabh and CEO Rahul Johri for the ICC meet, SGM stamped Aniruddh's proposal for this trip abroad in violation of court orders. BCCI will have to cough up another $750 per day for this eight-day long trip, apart from boarding and lodging.

COA chief Rai has called Dubai-bound team for a meeting on Friday.

Status report

The COA has decided to report these violations in its next status report to be submitted to the SC. This is more so because all three eligible officials have given undertaking before the SC that they will implement the Justice Lodha panel recommendations to the best of their ability.

Cricket Association of Bihar Aditya Verma has now decided to file criminal contempt petition against all three BCCI officials.
