Aus prepared to take on 'tormentor' Harbhajan during Super Eight tie: Hussey

Australia batsman Michael Hussey has said they are ready to take on India off spinner Harbhajan Singh, who made a sensational comeback in the national team with figures of 4-12 against England, during their Super Eight clash in the ongoing Twenty20 World Cup on Friday.

Hussey is one of the few squad members with direct experience against Harbhajan, who has a history of tormenting Australians and remains disliked for his part in the race scandal in 2007-08.

Hussey suggested the off-spinner would have a more difficult time as batsmen were prepared to take him on, and tipped daring opener David Warner, who has been practicing his switch-hits at training, to thrive on Harbhajan's combative style.

"I prefer to walk away and not worry about it. If he wants to use his energy up sledging and carrying on, that's fine, mate," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Hussey, as saying.

"Some other guys really thrive on it. Davey Warner, he likes a little bit of interaction out there, and it gets him going," he added.

Hussey further said: "He [Harbhajan] bowled brilliantly against England, but in terms of T20 it's such a fine line. He did have a great day and maybe he just had that bit of luck early in his spell, getting his confidence going and then he got a new batter to bowl to.

"I'm sure there's going to be different challenges for him over the course of the tournament where hopefully a batter gets going against him and he has to react to that,'' said Hussey, who has been in formidable form at No. 3," he further said.

"But he's a class bowler and he's done it over a long period of time so you would expect that if he does get himself in there he's going to be a tough challenge to face," he concluded.
