Indian shooters were off to an unimpressive start on the sixth day of competitions at the 17th Asian Games with none of them managing a podium finish in Incheon on Thursday.
In the 50m Rifle Prone Men's Team Finals, India finished fourth behind behind Kazakhstan, South Korea and China, narrowly missing out on a medal after aggregating a total score of 1852.8 with the help of 97x at the Okryeon International Shooting Range.
In the individual event, Joydeep Karmakar finished 10th in qualification, Gagan Narang was placed 14th while Hariom Singh was way behind at 29th.
In 25m Standard Pistol Men's Team event, India finished fifth behind Vietnam, Singapore, South Korea and formidable China with a total score of 1684 that included 34x.
In the 25m standard pistol individual event, Gurpreet Singh was the best-placed India at fifth position, Mahaveer Singh was next at 17th while Samaresh Jung could
manage only a 24th-place finish.
Gurpreet shot 570 with the help of 18x.
