Nineteen-year-old Maini had made a switch from Formula 3 to GP midway into the last season, ending up 10th in the standings with a podium finish in Hungary.

It was a decent debut GP3 season for the Bengaluru boy despite missing the first four races of the championship.

Talking about the upcoming season, Maini said, "I had a good 2016 season in the GP3 and got my first podium as well.

I m hoping to perform more consistently this year starting with a complete season and look forward to getting my first win in GP3".

He had tested with reigning champions ART Grand Prix and Trident after the 2016 season before deciding to stick with Jenzer.

Jenzer Motorsport, founded in 1993 by Andreas Jenzer, has won numerous drivers and teams titles in various championships. They have been ever-present in the GP3 category and competed in every season since its inception in 2010.

The Swiss outfit has pocketed six wins in the GP3 Series along with 18 podiums.
