All England Open: Saina Nehwal fumes over husband Parupalli Kashyap's visa delay

With India eyeing to end their 18-year-long title drought in Birmingham this year, Indian shuttlers will be heading for the All England Championships, starting March 6.

However, amidst the preparations, Saina Nehwal’s husband Parupalli Kashyap who has turned as a coach and help for the player has not yet received his visa. Taking to Twitter, the ace badminton star wrote saying, “Visa issues again for UK . @parupallik applied visa on Monday-fast track service and is yet to receive any info. When will things change for Indian sport @YASMinistry @Media_SAI  @YonexAllEngland @MEAIndia @ukhomeoffice . I need his help for this important event. disappointing.”

Saina Nehwal who is seeded eighth at the tournament, will open her campaign against Scotland's Kirsty Gilmour. The London Olympics bronze medallist has made a strong start to the ongoing season, reaching the semi-final in Malaysia and winning the title in Indonesia.

She has also been drawn in the same quarter as Tai Tzu Ying and will face a probable quarter-final test against the defending champion and the world number one.

As for the men's singles players, the Indian shuttlers are going to face tough challenges in Birmingham.
