India's thoroughly deserved and thumping victory over Australia has set up a semifinal date with Pakistan at Mohali on March 30.
And as they prepare themselves for the match, Amdavadis too are gearing up for the big game by arranging family or friends gathering and setting up projectors for public viewing.
"Right now business is dormant but it is likely to pick up pace. Particularly, demand for LCD and LED television sets which are 42inch and above are likely to increase," an official from 'Next' store said.
Similar views were echoed by officials from Ramesh Corporation and Care stores. They are of the opinion that in the next couple of days, sales of television sets of high definition quality are likely to increase as everyone would want to watch the India versus Pakistan match with full clarity.
Recreational clubs of Ahmedabad too are readying themselves with special arrangements for their members and member-guests for the eagerly awaited semis.
"We have an open-air theatre with a capacity to seat at least 4,000 people. We will screen the match live at this place. Also, our Golden Glory air-conditioned hall can accommodate at least 2,000 people where we will screen the match live on four flat TV screens," said Girish Dani, secretary of Karnavati Club.
Similar arrangements are also being made at Rajpath club. JB Patel, club secretary, said, "We will screen the match at our open-air theatre which has a cinema screen and capacity to accommodate around 2,000 people. However, we also intend to screen the match in our air-conditioned Golden Hall if there are no prior bookings. Here, the screening will be done on a projection screen through the projector."
