Following the failure of the Pune pitch during the inaugural Test between India and Australia, the wicked at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru has been rated 'very good' by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Kohli's men endured a shocking defeat in Pune after being bowled out for 105 and 107 in two innings, which saw the Australians take the lead with a thumping margin of 333 runs as Steve O'Keefe cause all sorts of trouble to the Indians. The ICC, however, found no fault with the pitch in Bengaluru, as the Indians scripted an incredible comeback with a 75-run victory. The world governing body evaluated the pitch as 'very good' which is just placed below the 'excellent' mark, according to top sources. The other categories of ratings consisted of ‘good, average, below average, poor and unfit’ in context to Clause 3 of the ICC pitch and outfield monitoring process.

Chris Broad also expressed his happiness concerning the match which went on for four days and was even delighted with the turn and bounce that assisted the spinners. Kohli's men also seemed content after levelling the series in Bangalore.
