Argentina captain Lionel Messi's statue in Buenos Aires was recently was cut in half and half by unidentified vandals. The sculpture was unveiled in 2016 by mayor Horacio Rodriguez Larreta, in a bid to convince the Barcelona superstar to  reverse his international retirement following the Copa America final defeat.
