The historic 1000th episode of WWE Smackdown will see many big names making an appearance on the blue brand.
The historic 1,000th episode of WWE Smackdown will be held in Washington DC on October 16. It is the second-longest running weekly episodic cable television show in US primetime history, only behind Monday Night Raw.
The SmackDown 1000 episode will be star-studded affair with many interseting matches and some big stars. Many big stars are expected to return for this show while many current superstars will take their storylines forward.

There has been a lot of buzz going about the event. Let's take a look at what we know so far about the SmackDown 1000 show.
1. Confirmed: Evolution Reunites

It's confirmed! At SmackDown 1000- Evolution will reunite with Triple H, Batista, Randy Orton and Ric Flair coming back together for the historic event. The squared ring was dominated by the faction in the mid-2000s. The four superstars are WWE legends in their own rights as they share 49 world championship reigns among themselves.
While Orton is a regular member of the blue brand at the moment, Triple H holds the position of the company’s Chief Operating Officer. Ric Flair has been retired from the arena for 10 years but has been making frequent visits on special occasions as well. Batista has left WWE years ago and since then became a successful action movie star.

2. Rumor: DX vs Brothers of Destruction

WWE had shared the photo of the two teams with a caption 'Who would win this fantasy warfare? DX or Brothers of Destruction?' Undertaker and Kane laid out Triple H and Shawn Michaels at WWE Super Show-Down. Michaels has returned from retirement to re-form DX. So, if WWE extends the feud or goes ahead with Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels stroyline, a confrontation during the SmackDown 1000 between the two teams is very much possible. However, while Triple H will be on the show, Michaels' appearance is not confirmed.

3. Confirmed: The Undertaker and Kane will be There

Whether The Undertaker or Kane will not be in action or not, The Deadman and The Big Red Machine aks The Brothers of Destruction is set to appear at the 1000th episode of SmackDown. The Undertaker is one of the biggest name to ever grace the SmackDown brand. It's no surprise that his name has been advertised on the card for the event. He is most likely to be involved in an angle with Triple H. Kane is also expected to play a part in the feud.

4. Rumor: The Rock to Return

Throughout its early existence, The Rock routinely called SmackDown 'his' show, in reference to the fact the name was derived from one of his catchphrases, 'lay the smackdown'. It will be fitting if he returns on this ocassion. However, there has been no confirmations yet.

5. Confirmed: Edge Returns

The former WWE World Champion Edge will be present at WWE SmackDown 1000. According to reports, the R-Rated Superstar will be hosting his Cutting Edge show at the event. He is expected to be joined by friend Christian.

6. Rumor: Epic Dream Matches

WWE has hinted at the return of many legends and teased some dream matches between current and former superstars. WWE included graphics on Facebook teasing Daniel Bryan vs Kurt Angle, WWE Champion AJ Styles vs Rey Mysterio, Charlotte Flair vs Michelle McCool, Sheamus and Cesaro vs APA and Samoa Joe vs Batista. Whether it was a geniune plan or just wishful teasing remains to be seen.

7. Confirmed: WWE World Cup Qualifying Matches

Rey Mysterio will return to WWE on SmackDown 1000. He will face United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura in a WWE World Cup Qualifying Match. In the other match, Rusev goes one-on-one with The Miz. The winners will join John Cena, Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler in this eight-man tournament to determine the best in the world.

8. Expected: Main Events

WWE official website is advertising two main events for SmackDown 1000 with a four-men tag team match between WWE Championship match between AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan vs Samoa Joe and The Miz. It also will host a six-women tag team match between WWE SmackDown Live women's champion Becky Lynch and The IIconics facing off against Charlotte, Asuka and Naomi.
However, with The Miz scheduled to face Rusev for WWE World Cup spot the card may change on Tuesday.

9. Expected: Vickie Gurrero and Teddy Long

Former SmackDown General Manager Vickie Gurrero is expected to make an appearance. She is reported to be joined by another former GM Teddy Long.

Michelle McCool and Torrie Wilson are being advertised as appearing at Smackdown 1000 by the website for the Capital One Arena.
