1.Mohamed Salah not included in FIFPro XI
Mohamed Salah was the three players nominated for this year’s best player award. But he was not named in the FIFPro XI i.e. the best side of the year. How come?

2.Salah winning the Puskas award
Mo Salah was given the Puskas Award for the best goal of the year for his strike against Everton at Anfield in December 2017. It was strange as most people agreed that Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale scored much better goals. Most people said that it wasn’t even Salah’s best goal of the season. It showed that how fan votes are certainly the best way to choose the best.

3.Kevin De Bruyne not included in FIFPro XI
Kevin De Bruyne was the architect of Manchester City’s record-breaking Premier League season. He was also an important part of Belgium side that made it the the semi-final of the FIFA World Cup 2018. However, he too was left out of the FIFXI. In fact there was no Manchester City player in the XI.

4.Thibaut Courtois wins Best Goalkeeper
Thibaut Courtois won the Best Goalkeeper of the Year ahead of David de Gea, Jan Oblak, Marc-André ter Stegen and Alisson. It was controversial in itself. However, what added stupid to crazy as Courtois was not included in the FIFPro XI. It was David de Gea who got the honour.

5.Messi and Dani Alves in World XI
Lionel Messi was deemed not good enough to make it to the best player shortlist. However, he was choosen in the FIFPro XI ahead of Salah. Dani Alves, who played only 18 matches in the whole season and was knocked out in Champions League last 16 and missed the 2018 World Cup, made it to the FIFPro XI team. Well Done FIFA !!!!!
