1.Soaring past in the last race
Usain Bolt from Jamaica celebrates after crossing the line to win the gold medal in the men's 200-meter final.
Bolt completed the third consecutive sweep of the 100 and 200m sprints, an accomplishment that further elevated his status as the most decorated male sprinter in Olympic history. He defeated Andre de Grasse of Canada with a time of 19.78secs to take the gold home.

2.Ashton Eaton (United States)

Ashton Eaton became the first man to repeat a gold medal since Great Britain's Daley Thompson in 1980-84. The other man who had done that was legendary Bob Mathias, in 1948 and 1952.

Four US swimmers, including six gold medallist Ryan Lochte, have been at the centre of the media frenzy in Brazil since claiming they were held up at gunpoint in a Rio gas station in the early hours of Sunday.
Brazilian police later confirmed that the athletes were drunk and got into an altercation with security staff after vandalising a gas station bathroom during a night on the town. The security guard made them pay for the damages.
