India vs Sri Lanka T20 Match Updates: Clinical India thrash Sri Lanka by 69 runs
India level series.
Team India demolished Sri Lanka by 69 runs to win the second t-20 at Ranchi, and equalling the series 1-1. The teams now travel to Vizag for the third ODI. India dominated from the beginning and it was Dhawan was the man of the match for providing a flyer in the beginning.
India scored 196/6 in their stipulated over. Dhawan scored 51 of only 25 balls. Rohit played a good hand scoring 43. Rahane, Raina and Pandya also contributed to this massive total. For Sri Lanka, star was Perera who managed to take a hat-trick dismissing Pandya, Raina and Yuvi of three successive balls.
Sri Lanka was never really in the chase losing two wickets of the first two overs. Chandimal, Kapugedera, Siriwardana and Shanaka played decently but it was always too less while chasing such a huge total. Sri Lanka eventually fell well short scoring only 127 for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Kepugedera top scored with 32. For India Ashwin was the pick of the bowler taking 3. Nehra, Jadeja and Bumrah took two wickets each. Bumrah particularly again impressed for bowling yorkers effortlessly, a rarity in Indian cricket.

Expectedly Shikhar Dhawan is the Man of the Match. He says that he didn't have any set plans, and treated balls according to its merit.
India dominated the proceedings right from the word go. Almost every punt taken by Dhoni has paid off fantastically. On the hindsight, Sri Lanka winning the toss and sending India to bat was a bad move, which badly cost them later. Sri Lanka was also sloppy in the field, whereas India raised the bar consistently. Overall though Dhawan's stunning onslaught right at the beginning made the all crucial difference. Pandya's cameo too propelled the innings when Sri Lanka was looking to get back the match. All in all, an extremely satisfactory performance from Dhoni's men after horror show in Pune. The teams now travel to Vizag to play the decider.
Over 20: Bumrah back here to complete the last rites. This has been an extremely dominating performance by India. They have shown what they are truly capable of doing. The batters played dominantly and the bowlers ensured Sri Lanka was never in the hunt. Bumrah bowling a sedate over here. Siriwardana just left the last ball without trying to hit. It is probably an indicative of nature of India's dominance today.

Hardik was promoted by Dhoni who played a little cameo scoring 27 of 12 balls. Raina scored 30 of 19 balls. Perera hogged the limelight taking a hat-trick at the penultimate over. But all in all, it is a good total and Lanka will have to play really well to reach this score.
