From the 3rd Test match onwards, this India tour of England has not failed to amaze. After two innings defeats inside three days and losing the series 1-3 after being 1-0 up, India have recovered to win all ODIs so far. The 5th ODI at Headingley will be India's chance to make the scoreline 4-0, with one match washed out.

At present, they certainly appear capable of doing that. With the batsmen, even Shikhar Dhawan, showing good form and India's spinners out to make merry, England's task is severly cut out.

Some of the statistics are telling. Firstly, England's bowlers have all bowled at above 5 runs per over except James Tredwell. On the contrary, all of India's bowlers except Dhawal Kulkarni have conceded less than that.

Secondly, five Indian batsmen average above 50 in the ODI series. For England, just one batsman averages over 30. Lastly, India have bowled out England in all three completed games, while England have taken only 11 Indian wickets. Simply put, it has been a blowout.

India's utter domination at Birmingham was based on a surprisingly potent spin attack of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, and a stellar performance by Ajinkya Rahane with the bat. Rahane has shown immense maturity for a while now and finally looks to have established his place in the Indian side for a while.

England on the other hand, have been poor both at scoring fast and at scoring consistently. They have neither managed a consistently sound opening nor have their middle order batsmen shown grit and determination. In fact, India have never had to bowl death overs in this series, so abysmal has been England's batting performance.

India may want to rest a few players now that the series is theirs. On the other hand, they might want to play full strength to restore the team's confidence in full and also to continue on the path of establishing a settled XI for the World Cup next year in Australia. England might stick to the side from the previous game, with Ian Bell injured and a replacement not called in.
