Only three transactions were made during the 40-day long trading window of the Indian Premier League that closed on Monday. Only two of the eight IPL franchisees were involved.
According to IPL sources, the transfer was between Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders who traded players. The surprise transfer was that of Owais Shah. The England batsman has been roped in by KKR who have released Henriques Moises to the Delhi side. The other transfer was that of Manoj Tiwary. The Bengal player has moved from Delhi to his home town.

Moises, an all-rounder from NSW, was reportedly bought by KKR for $300,000 last year. Shah was purchased by Delhi for $ 275,000 in 2009 while Tiwary was bought by the Daredevils for $675,000 in 2007.
Meanwhile, it has been learnt that Chris Cairns’ name has been removed from the auction list. He was one of the 97 players who are to be auctioned on January 19 for the third edition of the IPL. The transfer window opened on November 23.
