Questions of infidelity were raised when scientists took his DNA sample to match to his descendants in order to prove the remains were in fact  Richard III. Genetic testing through his maternal DNA proved the body was that of the King. However, DNA  from his paternal chain did not match suggesting that at some point in history an adulterous affair occurred.Scientist have not been able to determine when the affair could have taken place in history.

However, this monumentous discovery open a whole new can of worms. The discovery calls into question whether kings like Henry VI, Henry VII and Henry VIII possessed royal blood or if they even had the right to rule.

The study is published in the journal Nature Communications.
