It’s green pigeon, but prefer macaw
Yes. I know that the yellow-footed green pigeon is state bird of Maharashtra. I recently read about it and hence I am aware. However, I think it would nice to see macaw as the state bird as it’s very colourful and it represents unity in diversity.

Is it peacock? If not, it should be
I am not aware about the state bird of Maharashtra. But if I were asked to take a guess, I think I would say it’s a peacock. In fact I strongly feel that peacock should be our state bird as it is as colourful as the culture of Maharashtra.

Not enough info about birds in city
It is unfortunate that we don't have so many birds to see in the city like Mumbai. But I feel many citizens would like to hear the sweet voice of koel; so koel should be our state bird.

Don’t know, but what about saras?
I don't know about the state bird. Saras is a good choice. It migrates from distant countries every year and chooses only Maharashtra. Also, it is quite majestic and graceful.

Bulbul will make an apt choice
I think owlet is our state bird. I guess the criteria for selection must be common availability, attractiveness or rarity of the bird. According to me, bulbul is an apt choice as it’s attractive.

Ignorant about the state bird
I had no idea as such that there is something like a state bird. I guess it would be pigeon as there is lot in the city. But Kingfisher should be state bird of Maharashtra.
