Want to hide last seen time and blue ticks on WhatsApp? Here's a step-by-step guide

Many people nowadays are very particular about their privacy especially on social networking sites. To provide you some privacy, WhatsApp allows you to hide your last seen and blue ticks.

If you haven't discovered these features yet, now would be the time to do so. Because some users don't want others to know when they read a message, both functions are offered as an option.

Both options are included in the messaging app's privacy section. The following instructions will show you how to enable or disable last seen and blue ticks.

Blue tick on read messages

This feature is located in the Privacy settings page but does not have the same name. The blue ticks will be disabled if you select the Read Receipts option in WhatsApp. Users can enable this option at any time by repeating the process. It must be noted that if you turn off the option, you also won't be able to see blue ticks when others read your messages.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to disable the blue tick showing on your messages

Step 1: Go to the Settings by clicking on the three dots in the top right corner of the WhatsApp app.

Step 2: Go to Account page and from there to the Privacy page

Step 3: Disable the ‘Read Receipts’ option on the Privacy Page and your blue ticks, and of those you chat with, will be disabled from now on.

Last seen time on WhatsApp

The last seen feature on WhatsApp is more expansive than the blue tick or not option. There are three alternatives that app gives you on who can see your last seen time on WhatsApp. You can show last seen to public, only your contacts or no one.

The first simply means that everyone with your WhatsApp number will be able to access your most recent status. Only your contacts will be able to view your last seen on WhatsApp if you choose the second option. Nobody will be allowed to see your WhatsApp last seen if you enable the "Nobody" setting.

Here is a step-by-step guide to choose any of the last seen options

Step 1: Go to the Settings by clicking on the three dots in the top right corner of the WhatsApp app.

Step 2: Go to the Account page and again to the Privacy option from the drop-down menu.

Step 3: Select the Last Seen option and change the setting to ‘Nobody.’

It should be noted that whatever changes you save will apply to the messaging app's mobile and web versions.
